We all know about the importance of vision. Vision is one of the driving forces in any organization; but I think vision is even more important in the church. Let’s face it: The vision isn’t being accomplished in most churches. Most church members in most churches don’t know what the church’s vision is, or they don’t embrace the vision fully. So the question is: How do Pastors lead in such a way that the church fully embraces the vision? That’s what we’ll be talking about in both our Onsite and Virtual Coaching Networks today:
- We must get our vision from God (not from another church or pastor). This requires discipline.
- We must over-communicate the vision. When we think we’ve overdone it, we’re probably getting close. This requires planning.
- We must raise up and develop leaders who share the vision. This requires commitment.
- We must protect the vision. We must keep the vision from being hijacked. We must confront vision drift quickly. This requires courage.
Where there is no vision, the people perish…” Proverbs 29:18 (KJV).
